Week 9

Wow! This quarter is coming to an end.  I just can't believe it.  Such a big transition for me.  Well, all this technology was pretty challenging so it was pretty difficult but I think its going to be okay.  At any rate, I learned alot this quarter.  This past week was pretty neat learning about DreamWeaver.  But that was pretty challenging also.  At any rate, I'm glad that things are going better and that my Final Project is almost in!  I'm excited for all the wonderful projects that we have to do in this class.  So very amazing.

Week 8 Blog

I wasn't able to attend this last class because I had the flu. Fortunately, I was filled in about some things that were done in class.  For example, Chelsea said they had alot of fun learning how to do voiceovers with Movie Maker.  That would be fun to do.  But I think that I can get the hang of it.  I have already started and am just about finished with my ePortfolio.  I now have to work on the Media Project.  I think that this is going to be time consuming but at the same time allow you to be creative and probably fun.  The problem that I find with editing is that when you start editing, you just can't stop.  There is always SOMETHING that needs to be changed in order for it to flow perfectly.  So, I am happy with my topic and I'm going to do the best with it.  I am looking forward to tomorrows class on DreamWeaver.

Week 7 Blog

This week was very interesting.  Today we had an online meeting on Google Plus.  On my end, I really like Google plus much more than the other online meeting venue that we used but unfortunately it didn't work for some people.  I wonder why that was happening because I was looking forward to hearing about their IT organizations.  Anyhow, it was really interesting to learn about the organizations online.  I thought George's IT organization of cue.org is really something that I would want to join as well.
I have to say that I am over the moon with all of these organizations and how flourishing the field of elearning in educational technology is.  There are tons of sessions to join and programs to learn about.  I cannot wait to delve into elearning and see if that really is what I want to do.

Week 6

Wow, there was so much to learn this last class.  We learned about so many different theories like Gagne, Constructivist, our Situated Learning Theory.  It was really interesting to learn these the way that they were presented.  It really made an impact on the way that I could understand them.  It was much more creative that just reading them from the book but they were in action.  Additionally, going to have to get a start on my web pages and idea for my video.  I'm not sure what I should do but I have a few choices.  Looking forward to the online class next week.  I hope that the google plus goes well. I'm sure it will.

Week 5

This was a great week yet again.  I am still enjoying this program and have actually found a new love in technology.  The more I learn, the more I like it.  Sure its frustrating in the beginning but I don't think that anything worthwhile comes easy.  At any rate, I learned alot about WordPress. In contrast to Google, I find it much easier to use, with more templates and overall something that I would use in the future.  We also had the chance to get into our groups today.  Monday's class should be interesting with all the presentations. I am looking forward to it.

Week Four Post

This week was very interesting. Why? Well because we were able to learn how to use HTML and also to make a Google Website.  How exciting.  I am so thrilled that the professor went step by step on how to use both of them.  It really made me think of the possibilities of how you can create such exciting web pages if you know the code.  I liked the google website creators as well, I found it a little bit more challenging but with constant experimentation, I'm sure that one can make a very good page.

Week Three Post (Michelle Phang)

There is plenty that I learned from this past weeks readings.  For example, I've learned that there are many learning theorists whose definitions of constructivism evolved over time.  In modern day, the constructivist approach is widely accepted and said to be effective though they do not know exactly how effective.  Though it is not perfect because it relinquishes control to the learner and may result in loss of control by the instructor, I believe that it is really a great way to learn.  It is relevant to daily life, it s engaging.  How many times have we heard people say, "Wow, well I didn't use 7th grade algebra today, yesterday either!" or something to that effect.  That is a great way of looking at it because it is important to relate things on a personal level for better learning retention.
Additionally, I also learned this past week about how to use the internet for our first internet class. I thought it was really interesting and something that I may want to use later for my future students or other chosen career.  How exciting to know that we are able to share things in the class over the computer.  Overall, I had a great experience this week and look forward to an even better one!

Post 2 EDIT 451

I've learned a great deal in the second meeting of EDIT 451.  The timeline assignment gave me a tremendous amount of insight into the world of educational technology.  I've learned about the evolution of how technology was just a fledgling in the early 1900's yet had many hopeful contributors to the field who prophesized the future that is now an explosion of the technological world we now live in.  Additionally, I was very moved to hear about our professors candid experience as an IT expert in top universities and how this field is ever changing and perhaps never can be truly defined. This actually made me more curious to seek more about this field. I am looking forward to our next assignment and a bit apprehensive about getting it just right.  I hope that my computer is equipped enough and functioning well enough so that it will be perfect in time for the Online sharing of our Web 2.0 page. What a concept! Being able to have a class online and sharing information is amazing.  I'm truly excited to know what else I will be learning both in this class and throughout the program.

Week 1 Reflections

This was a really amazing class. I learned about google docs and learned about how to work Moodle.  I'm really thrilled to be back in school being very productive.  This was a very informative class though it did go by fast.  It is interesting to know that there are various ways to work with gmail in order for other people to view your work as well as, comment on it.  Very excited to see what lies ahead and more importantly, how I can apply what I've learned into my daily life and future career.
