Week Four Post

This week was very interesting. Why? Well because we were able to learn how to use HTML and also to make a Google Website.  How exciting.  I am so thrilled that the professor went step by step on how to use both of them.  It really made me think of the possibilities of how you can create such exciting web pages if you know the code.  I liked the google website creators as well, I found it a little bit more challenging but with constant experimentation, I'm sure that one can make a very good page.

Week Three Post (Michelle Phang)

There is plenty that I learned from this past weeks readings.  For example, I've learned that there are many learning theorists whose definitions of constructivism evolved over time.  In modern day, the constructivist approach is widely accepted and said to be effective though they do not know exactly how effective.  Though it is not perfect because it relinquishes control to the learner and may result in loss of control by the instructor, I believe that it is really a great way to learn.  It is relevant to daily life, it s engaging.  How many times have we heard people say, "Wow, well I didn't use 7th grade algebra today, yesterday either!" or something to that effect.  That is a great way of looking at it because it is important to relate things on a personal level for better learning retention.
Additionally, I also learned this past week about how to use the internet for our first internet class. I thought it was really interesting and something that I may want to use later for my future students or other chosen career.  How exciting to know that we are able to share things in the class over the computer.  Overall, I had a great experience this week and look forward to an even better one!

Post 2 EDIT 451

I've learned a great deal in the second meeting of EDIT 451.  The timeline assignment gave me a tremendous amount of insight into the world of educational technology.  I've learned about the evolution of how technology was just a fledgling in the early 1900's yet had many hopeful contributors to the field who prophesized the future that is now an explosion of the technological world we now live in.  Additionally, I was very moved to hear about our professors candid experience as an IT expert in top universities and how this field is ever changing and perhaps never can be truly defined. This actually made me more curious to seek more about this field. I am looking forward to our next assignment and a bit apprehensive about getting it just right.  I hope that my computer is equipped enough and functioning well enough so that it will be perfect in time for the Online sharing of our Web 2.0 page. What a concept! Being able to have a class online and sharing information is amazing.  I'm truly excited to know what else I will be learning both in this class and throughout the program.
