There is plenty that I learned from this past weeks readings. For example, I've learned that there are many learning theorists whose definitions of constructivism evolved over time. In modern day, the constructivist approach is widely accepted and said to be effective though they do not know exactly how effective. Though it is not perfect because it relinquishes control to the learner and may result in loss of control by the instructor, I believe that it is really a great way to learn. It is relevant to daily life, it s engaging. How many times have we heard people say, "Wow, well I didn't use 7th grade algebra today, yesterday either!" or something to that effect. That is a great way of looking at it because it is important to relate things on a personal level for better learning retention.
Additionally, I also learned this past week about how to use the internet for our first internet class. I thought it was really interesting and something that I may want to use later for my future students or other chosen career. How exciting to know that we are able to share things in the class over the computer. Overall, I had a great experience this week and look forward to an even better one!
